The Transportation Engineering mission directly supports integration of research with education. Our students come from a variety of engineering backgrounds. Although most of them have come from the civil engineering field, the center also has supported computer science, mechanical engineering, and electrical and systems engineering students at the Master's and Ph.D. levels. Undergraduate students also conduct research on CISR projects and assist faculty in the laboratories. Visit the Courses page for a comprehensive listing of relevant courses offered.
Transporation Engineering at SEAS offers a collaborative and friendly research environment with significant interactions with different student bodies and research groups from different disciplines. Through visits and seminars, the researchers at CISR often interact with high school students from the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) and from the Loudon County Public Schools (Virginia). In addition to interacting with other students, the CISR team and the students taught by Professor Hamdar have the opportunity to meet officials and professionals from different public and private agencies. Visit the Student Activities page to view past events and seminars.
