The Transportation Program has been chartered as an area of excellence at the George Washington University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) since 1996. Its mission is:
To advance the science that relates to “transportation systems”
To integrate fundamental and applied research with GW academic programs
To train and educate students to become leaders and successful professionals, mainly in the field of transportation.
Development of engineering tools and solutions for real-life problems that directly benefit societies are among the broader impact goals of this program. Human health has always been the centerpiece of the Transportation Program mission. In all areas (education, research and service), the Transpiration Program emphasizes the human-centric aspect of its work focusing on public safety, quality of life, and resiliency.
