One Ph.D. and one M.S. position
The George Washington University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering currently has two open positions in the area of transportation engineering: a Ph.D. position and an M.S. position. Interested applicants should have an engineering educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering fields. Experience in traffic/transportation science is preferred.
The Ph.D. applicant is expected to have excellent programming skills (preferably C++ and JAVA) as his/her research tasks will include traffic/network modeling, vehicular/pedestrian dynamics animation and data collection, mining and visualization. The M.S. student should have good programming knowledge and should have a strong background in mathematics and physics. Knowledge in vehicle control and instrumentation/sensing is a plus.
